Free Video Player - ALPHA RELEASE ! :)

That's right, after some grinding in fixing cross-browser bugs and other hassle with both listening to correct events from the keyboard, adjusting css and other functionality issues. I have now released the first ALPHA version of Free Video Player. It am glad I have finally been able to reach this level of consistency and reaching the first point of release for the player, even though it most likely will need more attention in fixes in the features that have been pushed in this ALPHA release, but now its out in the public so others might be able to test the player and provide feedback!

Lets see where this goes. Anyways it feels good that I managed to get to this point.  I deserve a break which I am taking now ;). Peace out!

Free Video Player - Site online :)

Hi people hope you are all doing well and if you aren't already,  that you follow your hearts wherever they may take you ;). That is what I am doing now. I guess I have also changed a bit on how I look at career and things. So will see how my upcoming working situation looks like ;). Currently looking for like something like part/half time development in a project/work and part time teaching in things like Maths or music since that is something I discovered I loved also when I was doing part time teaching in the end of my study years at KTH. Yea maybe I will add even more philosophical ideas and views I have on life here aswell as providing some stuff about the developy part of my life ;).

Anyways for some developy parts.. I released the web-site for the open source project I discussed earlier.. drum roll... Free Video Player ! :) The codebase can be reached through the homepage I just linked to or by going directly over to GitHub :). So far I am working towards an ALPHA release so there is just the possibility to fork the project at GitHub but soon I will have a zipped alpha release containing the js files necessary to include the Free Video Player within your site.

Now for another important thing.. pictures from the last part of my vaccation ;) I was in the northern/middle part of Sweden visiting beautiful Åre and did some skiing with a friend. One night we had confy -30 celsius kinda, but boy is it beautiful during the day when the sun is shining and the dry air (all water moisture freezes over kinda fast).

Holidays, New challenges - And an Open Source HTML5 Video player

Ok people hope all is well and the holidays are treating you all wonderfully well!? :) Some updates, I am changing projects workwise now on the beginning of next years. Nothing is written in stone yet but I have my ideas and leads, its more about me listening to myself for a while before jumping in to the next challenge/experience ! :).  A cool thing though is that I decided to give back more to the community in form of Open Source stuff, and the first (quite big) project comes in an open source technology for playing video streams. There is something called HTML5 and I have basically started to build my own video player from scratch which in turn will be licensed through GPLv3 http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-3.0.en.html. I will post more stuff on this blog as soon as we have something closer to a first alpha/beta, then it will be published on github for the public etc (its currently me doing all the video player work, but a former colleague and a friend is doing work on other parts of the project aswell).
